Arish Pop-Up Dome

Palm leaf Pop-Up Dome, Sharjah (UAE) by Amid.cero9 in collaboration with Buro Happold and 3Ideas Ltd (2012)

By amid

As a counterpart to the ghostly illusion of the Sheikh Zayed Avenue uncountable towers in Dubai, the Emirate of Sharjah has developed an identity based on the recovery of traditions and the bet on the more advanced art.

AMID.cero9 is preparing a piece of shadow built exclusively with Palm fronds for the Sharjah Art Foundation.

The big basket, which alludes to the summer rooms covered with arish suspended above the horizon of the Persian Sea, will become a public space powered by food, for talks about the future of our material surroundings.

Arish Pop-UP Dome (Heritage Area, Sharjah) 2012-2013.
