We are presenting a recent proposal by AMID.cero9 for Gebr. Heinemann Group, designed to be installed in the T4 terminal in Madrid Airport and supposedly recreating Madrid identity.
Here you have some excerpts from the project’s memory: “…Madrid is a city with no clear identity. Placed in the geometric centre of the country, surrounded by two flat, arid and infinite plateaus, far away from the coast, Madrid was born to be the capital and was quickly constructed. Madrid is a huge village surrounded by fields. Everything here comes from those endless yellow fields of the two Spanish plateaus (…) Our proposal consists on the construction of a field under the Sun. A ceiling that reflects and diffuses the light, recreating the experience of the landscape and referring to the lyrical appreciation of Castilian Plains and the loneliness of the infinite landscape under the Sun of “Campos de Castilla” by Antonio Machado, member of the Generation ’98.
